Allentown Water Leasing Deal: Bill White’s Modest Proposal

Consider all options independently and show the community the entire process.  Bill says:

“If you’ve ever seen one of his Power Point presentations, you know he’s good at it. My only complaint is that he often seems more interesting in mounting a convincing public relations campaign for the decision he already has made than in allowing open public dialogue to lead the way to the best choice.”

Spot on.  In this sense, the Mayor’s plan to lease our public water and sewer operations to a private company for 50 years in order to pay for a bad pension deal his old boss made with the police and firefighters is reminiscent of the Marcel Groen-led process that committed us to the cherry-picked DTE deal last spring.
