I’m posting this video of Tom Ridge on Colbert for three reasons:
1) I live in Pennsylvania
2) Three of my friends were actually at this taping of The Colbert Report, and I’m pretty sure that’s them cheering when Steven says “great state of Pennsylvania.” Actually, sir, we’re a Commonwealth. Sec. Ridge should have corrected you on that.
3) Even if Sec. Ridge is correct in believing that fracking doesn’t pose any additional environmental threat to the communities in which high levels of methane already exist (why frack elsewhere?), I still believe that it’s fundamentally a bad idea to shoot chemicals into the ground. Don’t you?
